This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the evolving landscape of veterinary medicine, emphasising its role in safeguarding the health and security of diverse animal species including the agricultural and companion animals. With the historical impression and contemporary challenges, our effort sequentially swings towards enhancing the effectiveness and sensitivity of the therapeutic approaches. In context, increasing antibiotic resistance required reassessment of traditional antibiotic usage and claimed the urgent necessity for contemporary strategies. Recent scientific developments such as advanced antibiotic strategies, electromagnetic pulses, phage therapy, ultrasound, are discussed in this chapter for their potential incorporation into veterinary practices. The chapter further explores the strategies to improve antibiotic effectiveness, the applications of electromagnetic pulses in veterinary healthcare, the basics and applications of phage therapy and the diagnostic and therapeutic uses of ultrasound technology. Furthermore, we highlight the advantage of integration these modalities to enhance the effectiveness of veterinary medicine along with case studies and outcomes. The role of regulatory and ethical considerations is also discussed, emphasising the importance of balancing innovation with safety and responsibility. The chapter concludes with insights into the future landscape of veterinary medicine and recommendations for further research to advance the field.

摘要
