In order to solve the problem that the existing grid-forming inverter (GFMI) adopts a control strategy of switching voltage source to current source during fault ride-through, which cannot provide necessary frequency support and voltage support for the grid. A control strategy of GFMI during fault ride-through is proposed and studied, the strategy is based on equivalent internal potential reshaping and additional virtual impedance. The basic working principle is expounded, and the key control equations are given. The proposed control strategy can not only maintain the voltage source characteristics during fault ride-through, but also effectively suppress transient overcurrent. Finally, A PV-GFMI simulation model with fault ride-through control strategy is built, the validity and correctness of the proposed control strategy are verified.
