Households live in urban and peri-urban areas are transforming to digital way of life from social way of life due to the available and accessible to information and communication technology as well as digital-based residential living and mobility services. The household’s preference towards selecting residence and travel pattern through obtaining mobility devices especially from the peri-urban households is changing more towards digital means. The author’s attempted to explore the social reality in terms of the above-said aspects within the context of the metro city Chennai, one of the four largest metropolitan cities in India.
