In this chapter, Katrina and Cathie, two teacher educators, provide insights into how they became involved in teaching Learning From CountryCountry to preservice teachersPreservice teachers at two Australian universities. Katrina is a Worimi woman who has 25 years’ experience as a teacher educator in three Sydney-based universities. Cathie has lived and worked in the local Aboriginal community, RedfernRedfern, for 40 years, first as a teacher at the local school and later as a teacher educator at The University of Sydney. This chapter explores the learning, opportunities, and challenges they faced as they developed, planned, and implemented Learning From CountryCountry experiences. Using an edited transcript of a yarnYarns with Katrina and Cathie, the chapter structure follows the flow of the questions, providing an honest account of the lessons learnt and practical suggestions to inspire school and university educators to begin the process of connecting with their local Aboriginal communities.
