This paper examines recent advancements in cross-cultural studies, focusing on Fons Trompenaars’ influential seven cultural dimensions and four organizational culture types. Despite their robust theoretical foundation, these models face challenges such as the dynamic nature of culture and the integration of technology in global business, necessitating adaptable frameworks. This study contextualizes these challenges within Trompenaars’ and other cross-cultural theories, analyzing their practical applications in multinational corporations. Through case studies of the Volvo-Geely acquisition and the Mercedes-Benz-Chrysler merger, the paper identifies the strengths and limitations of these theories in practice. The findings provide valuable insights for investors, highlighting the importance of understanding cultural differences to enhance the development of multinational companies.
