Indian dairy cooperatives are facing problems of administrative inefficiency, communication gaps, data management challenges, lack of transparency, member services, regulatory compliances, performance monitoring, etc. These problems can be solved by using information systems. Information systems can enhance communication, improve data management, streamline administrative tasks, and ensure transparency in Indian dairy cooperatives. Sabar Dairy is the second largest milk producer cooperative union in India. Many cooperatives in India use information technologies like ERP, AI, Big Data, and Blockchain to improve their business processes and achieve cost minimization and profit maximization. This case study highlights how Sabar Dairy has used information systems to enhance important business processes such as procurement, customer relationship management, production, sales, marketing, and logistics. It also highlights the impact of implementing information systems in Sabar Dairy on its performance. This case study will provide valuable insights to other Indian dairy cooperatives on how information systems significantly enhance the performance of cooperatives.
