With the world moving toward a more hybrid work model as an unintended consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an increase in use of video conferencing tools. This study investigated the usability of three popular video conferencing tools: Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. The goal was to assess these tools’ usability via testing and to determine if these tools were suitable for educational use. Testing followed a within-subjects experiment design with the Latin squares method used to eliminate bias from the results. Participants were given tasks to attempt on all three tools. After participants completed their tasks, they were given the System Usability Scale (SUS) and an additional questionnaire to gather more data. Retrospective testing was employed as well to gather further feedback. Based on these results, usability issues were identified, analyzed, and compared for all three of the video conferencing tools. Results showed that Meet and Zoom had the best potential to be employed for educational use.
