The Potential Development of Tourism Services and Tourism Communication Models in a Northern National Park for Carbon–Neutral Tourism Support Using Data Mining Analytics

A research study uses data mining analytics to assess the potential development of tourism services and communication models in a northern national park for carbon–neutral tourism support. It aimed to develop the potential of using tourism resource services to reduce carbon emissions in the park and create a mechanism, communication, and service facilities to support net zero carbon tourism in three areas: Doi Inthanon National Park, Chae Son National Park, Phu Sang National Park. There are three objectives. The first objective is to analyze tourist behavior and the potential of tourist services in national parks in the northern region toward net zero carbon tourism. The second objective is to develop mechanisms and tourism communication formats in national parks in the northern region of Thailand according to the goal of net zero carbon tourism. The third objective is to develop a tourist behavior analysis model that influences the development of net zero carbon tourism. The research data was collected through 1200 questionnaires from three national parks in Thailand. The tool used for data mining analysis is an unsupervised learning technique known as K-means and elbow performance clustering. The study results found that the context of tourists in each national park is clearly different. In addition, the tourist clusters obtained from the research can summarize the characteristics of tourists in each national park.
