The construction of new power systems is accelerating, and the high proportion of new energy access has brought challenges such as power supply balance, security and stability control. It is necessary to enhance further the power grid’s observability, descriptiveness, and controllability capabilities. The construction of the digital distribution network system needs to adapt to new forms, evolve new architectures, iterate on existing ones, and build new capabilities. This paper analyzes the difficulties and challenges in grid digital construction resulting from power system transformation. It proposes the core concept of a digital distribution network operating system, provides construction methods and evolution strategies for this system, and forecasts its value system.
