In the history of China, besides the Han ethnicity, there were various ethnic minorities that often established independent political entities. During the Northern & Southern Song dynasties, in the northern regions of China, three such entities were the Liao (907–1125 AD), King (1115–1234 AD), and Western Xia (1032–1227 AD) Dynasties.

In the history of China, besides the Han ethnicity, there were various ethnic minorities that often established independent political entities.
