A safe and convenient travel environment is the people’s good expectation for the transportation industry. Might be better phrased as “to comprehensively improve the safety level of transportation facilities and the safety assessment of transportation infrastructure, strengthen long-term performance observation”. In this research lightweight wireless self-powered (LWSP) sensor monitoring equipment that integrates sensors, data acquisition, energy harvesting, and power storage units is established. This work uses the highway Xueshan Tunnel as the research scenario to confirm the functions and applicability of the new LWSP. The proposed technique will enhance the sustainability and performance of infrastructure monitoring based on novel LWSP sensors compared to the conventional method, showing the excellent monitoring capabilities of these new sensors.
