Although China has entered a new era of omnimedia and big data, the ethnic minority areas along Yunnan’s border are still lagging behind in information dissemination and interpersonal communication, with many ethnic minority communities in the border regions being still relatively ill-informed and traditional in this regard. In these areas, religion still plays a great role in social integration.
