The use of low-cost materials of natural origin has been proved to be promising for the fabrication of ceramic membranes. This chapter deals with the development of high performing macroporous, mesoporous and microporous carbon based on mineral coal and phenolic resin to explore their scope of application for treatment of textile wastewater and oily wastewater. Preparation of graphite-based electrochemical membranes and their utilization for degradation of refractory organic pollutants has been discussed.
