Teaching grammar in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom presents challenges arising from diverse learning preferences and teaching styles. This study investigates the implementation of “grammaring”, an approach emphasizing grammar instruction through use, form, and meaning. Interactive apps like Genially were employed to create engaging materials that enhance the learning experience and motivate students to acquire grammar. Genially facilitates the integration of additional technological tools such as videos and quizzes. Specific grammar topics were presented by utilizing Genially, and students were encouraged to showcase their learning during synchronous sessions, with the simple past tense serving as an exemplar in this report. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect data regarding participants’ reflections on prior experiences and impressions of the current approach. The findings indicate that participants perceived the app as user-friendly, comprehensive, accessible, adaptable to their learning preferences, and beneficial in terms of practicality and time-saving. Notably, the grammaring approach aided students in retaining their learning by providing relevant examples, surpassing a focus solely on metalinguistic explanations. These materials, incorporating grammaring strategies, can be easily integrated into face-to-face, blended, or hybrid EFL classrooms, benefiting teachers and students. The recyclability of these materials further enhances their practical value. While the results are promising, further research is warranted to explore the application of grammaring in the EFL context.
