Sustainability Assessment of a Building Construction Project
摘要
Sustainability standards for monitoring and evaluation practices currently available around the world are implemented with the long-term impact ensuring resources support and capacity to continue by producing positive outcomes of construction materials by reducing their environmental footprints and conserving resources. Comprehensive sustainable assessment for designed building project employs diverse approaches such as including green building certification programmes, lifecycle assessment, material selection, and embodied carbon analysis. Comparison and validation of building assessment of calculated carbon footprint by manual calculation in comparison with tools such as OneClick LCA and EC3 tool for the sustainability assessment based on the conventional database and sustainable database used for the designed building. The change of material has led to decrease in the carbon footprint throughout its life cycle. The percentage difference for the designed building using conventional practices and sustainable practices of the building comparison wise for the conventional design and sustainable design was found out to be 20.56, 16.86, 19.51% for manual calculation, OneClick LCA tool, and EC3 tool, respectively, for the reduction in carbon footprint upon replacement of materials using sustainable practices.
