This chapter focuses on posterior uveitis, providing a detailed explanation of both noninfectious and infectious causes. Noninfectious uveitis is discussed in relation to conditions such as sarcoidosis, Behcet’s disease, Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome, sympathetic ophthalmia, and various collagen vascular disorders, highlighting their pathophysiology and clinical implications. Infectious uveitis is also discussed, focusing on key pathogens including toxoplasmosis, tuberculosis, histoplasmosis, herpetic acute retinal necrosis (ARN), progressive outer retinal necrosis (PORN), cytomegalovirus (CMV), and cat scratch disease, alongside other less common etiologies. Additionally, the chapter covers inflammatory chorioretinopathy, particularly the white dot syndromes, elucidating their diagnostic features and management strategies.
