Renewable energy (RE) is a crucial issue for many countries, including Malaysia. People have concerns on climate changes that harm health and social impact in long term. Thus, many developed countries aim to achieve high mix diversification of RE, such as solar PV in green energy technology investment. Focusing on that, this study intends to investigate the relationship of green technology investment and self-generation toward electricity saving consumption. As a consumer, the optimum saving in electricity bill is preferable, because return in Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme. This study retrieved data from PV Monitoring System (PVMS) from the latest data starting from July 2018 to December 2020 whereby data during Covid-19 pandemic (2021 and 2022) was excluded since biased energy consumption. Thus, a total of 120 observations were considered to run an estimation regression model. The results demonstrate cost, efficiency, and irradiation have strongly significant positive and negative effect to the sustainability of electricity savings consumption. Theoretically, this study enhances literature on social responsible investing and ecological modernization theory in creating awareness of the essential balancing between business profit and environment sustainability. Practically, it provides a general guideline to investor in selecting a suitable install capacity for investment.
