A 4PSS/PUU 5-DOF parallel mechanism is proposed in this research. The mechanism with five degrees of freedom is composed of four groups of the same PSS branches and one PUU branch. It can realize movement in three directions and rotation in two directions. The degree of freedom is calculated by the G-K formula and screw theory, and kinematic analysis of the branch chain of the mechanism is carried out by the D-H method. The forward and inverse solutions of the kinematics are deduced, and then the velocity and acceleration are analyzed. Finally, the application prospects of the institution in the industry are proposed.
