This research paper explores the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating Filipino Sign Language (FSL) into the Philippine education curriculum, focusing on the marginalization of the deaf community and the potential of technology to bridge accessibility gaps. Despite legislative recognition of Filipino Sign Language (FSL) as the official sign language, the practical implementation remains insufficient, highlighting the need for systemic changes in educational practices and societal attitudes toward the deaf community. In order to better understand how technology can support the learning of Filipino Sign Language (FSL), the study examines the historical background of sign language recognition in the Philippines, the current status of deaf education, and the role of AI-driven applications. Through an analysis of existing literature and case studies, the paper argues for the necessity of comprehensive language policies, increased professional training for sign language interpreters, and the adoption of innovative educational models that prioritize inclusivity and accessibility. The conclusion underscores the critical role of technological solutions in enhancing the visibility and acceptance of Filipino Sign Language (FSL) in educational institutions and the wider society as a whole, yet highlights that an AI-enabled comprehensive solution for the problem would require further study, development, resources, and time to ensure its overall effectiveness as a reliable tool.
