As the coupling between various disciplines shall be taken into account in the modeling process of MDO, the MDO problem of complex systems is much more complex than single-discipline optimization, possessing the computational complexity, organizational complexity, model complexity and complexity of information exchange. It is impractical to directly couple the Design Space Search (DSS) optimization algorithm commonly used in single-discipline design optimization to multidisciplinary analysis.
