To promote the new technology of composite insulated cross arm (CICA) tension tower and make it better applied to the new generation of power grids, create conditions for the differential design of transmission lines, and improve the inclusiveness of lines. Combined with the promotion of the application of CICA, the design, and research of the 220 kV CICA tension tower are carried out, the tower body design planning of 220 kV CICA tension tower is carried out, the mechanical simulation analysis and electric field simulation analysis of CICA are carried out, and the overload and electrical experiment verification are carried out based on numerical simulation theoretical analysis. The comprehensive analysis and experiment verify the rationality of design optimization, which can be used as a reference for subsequent engineering projects. The research and development and design of the CICA tension tower will realize the comprehensive application of CICA new technology in transmission lines, which has important application and promotion significance for improving the design and equipment level of transmission lines and improving the diversity and stability of transmission lines.
