Fault Ride Through Method of Doubly-Fed Induction Generators Based on Hybrid Transformer

The traditional fault ride through methods of doubly-fed induction generators are difficult to deal with severe grid faults. Improving the fault ride through of doubly-fed induction generators is very important to the stable operation of power grid. Therefore, this paper proposes an enhanced fault ride through method of doubly-fed induction generators based on hybrid transformer, which integrates the series converter into the series winding of the high-voltage transformer. When the power grid voltage fails, the hybrid transformer outputs compensation voltage through the series winding to maintain the medium voltage at constant value, so that the terminal voltage of doubly-fed induction generators is unaffected by the power grid fault. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme are verified by simulation and experiment.
