Multi-turn Linear Transformer Driven Pulse Generator Based on Printed Circuit Board Windings
摘要
In recent years, the applications of high-voltage pulsed electric field in the field of food processing, pulsed field ablation and other fields have received widespread attention, in which the adjustment range of pulse width is a key parameter, which directly impacts the effect of the electric field on the treatment object. For such applications, a multi-turn linear transformer driver (LTD) based on printed circuit board (PCB) winding was designed, which could output wider pulse width with steep front and back edges. The multi-turn LTD pulse generator is composed of 4 LTD modules, each of which consists of four 6-turn PCB windings. Each winding is driven by three MOSFETs in parallel, and each MOSFET is connected in parallel to three energy storage capacitors. A multi-turn linear transformer driven pulse generator based on PCB windings is developed, which can output pulse parameters for the voltage amplitude 0–4 kV, the output pulse current up to 40A, pulse width 100 ns–4 μs, pulse rise time 19 ns, fall time 18 ns, repetition frequency up to 300 Hz. Its parameters, such as output voltage, and pulse width can be flexibly adjusted, but also by increasing or decreasing the number of turns of the secondary PCB winding to flexibly expand the final output voltage amplitude.
