In the context of achieving the “dual carbon” goal, to improve the consumption and utilization of renewable energy, mobile energy storage technology is rapidly developing. However, due to the influence of its operational control strategy, the fault characteristics of mobile energy storage systems differ significantly from traditional synchronous power sources. At the same time, mobile energy storage systems have four quadrant operating characteristics, which also makes their output characteristics different from new energy sources such as wind and solar power. Therefore, the integration of mobile energy storage systems will have a serious impact on the regulation of traditional distribution networks, thereby affecting the safe and stable operation of the power system. This article first studies the fault characteristics of mobility. On this basis, the possible impact of mobile energy storage access on distribution network regulation and protection was analyzed from two factors: access location and access capacity. The research results have important reference significance for the formulation of distribution network regulation strategies under the integration of mobile energy storage.
