Soft computing (SC) became a powerful technique to detect the inner structure and hidden patterns in the dataset. It tries to learn the environment and respond to it, as of human beings. This paper focuses on studying and reviewing the soft computing techniques applied in healthcare especially in medical diagnosis of chronic disease. The paper aims to provide insights into the various soft computing techniques that has been effectively used in the healthcare field. The study also reveals that there is a high interest in soft computing-based diagnosis in all fields of medicine that includes cardiology, neurology, physiology, radiology, genetics, etc.
