The absence of normal testis in the scrotum in male individual is generally termed undescended testis (UDT) or cryptorchidism. Etiology is mostly congenital, however, acquired cases of UDT have been recognized. Timely surgical intervention and awareness with the possible complications can keep them at bay. The pathological abnormalities involving such gonads influence the outcome.
