Chest Wall Deformities
摘要
Congenital chest wall deformities are common, with an incidence of 1 in 1000 people. There is a higher preponderance for males with a male to female ratio of 5:1. In addition to the cosmetic appearance, they can cause physiologic alterations in the form of restrictive pulmonary function, exercise intolerance, and impaired cardiac filling function. Surgical correction is often deemed necessary based on the age of the patient, degree of deformity, and alteration of the physiological functions.
