Head injury is the most common cause of trauma-related deaths in children. A total of 85% of the injuries sustained by children are mild and non-life-threatening and on the other hand, half of the deaths resulting from blunt trauma are because of brain injuries. Most common causes are falls and motor vehicle accidents. Use of child restraints and helmets can decrease the incidence of traumatic head injuries.
