Recommendation Algorithm to Further Ethereum Client Diversity
摘要
The Ethereum blockchain is currently experiencing a client diversity crisis, with the largest execution and consensus clients, Geth and Prysm holding over 50% and 30% of the total node usage respectively. If one of the majority clients were to be exploited, Ethereum could face substantial financial damages as a result of compromised clients via slashing and inactivity leaks. The present paper focuses on the development of a client recommendation algorithm that moves nodes away from majority clients. The recommendation algorithm also considers the uniformity of the client distribution and minimises the attack surface of the execution and consensus client pair.
