Android devices are playing major role nowadays due to their advancement in electronic and communication technology and they are being utilized in wide range. Android device has emerged as one of the greatest key elements for sensing people contextual in formation, and the sensors in the devices and communication protocols can be utilized to collect data. This paper deals with Android application and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology to design models such as indoor localization system. The popularity of indoor localization systems has essentially increased during the last few years. Bluetooth low energy protocols, which are being used to achieve the indoor positioning and navigation by using beacons, are considered as a most efficient way for indoor positioning. Bluetooth devices can broadcast the signals known as received signal strength indicators (RSSI) in a short distance range. This can help us to locate the device (beacon). Android application simulated in smartphone using Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacon technology is developed to deploy in various indoor localization models. The application is built with Bluetooth low energy beacons and BLE-WIFI gateway having a unique MAC ID by utilizing the already available hardware inside a smartphone; it can transmit and receive the RSSI signals, respectively. The simulated Android applications could then be used to build a real-time system that monitors assets within the certain premises.
