Ethical practices in the construction industry have been a critical issue in the recent times due to the rate at which the construction process ends up unsuccessful in developing countries. Notwithstanding the quest to achieve acceptable ethics, which ensures that projects are delivered according to the client’s expectations, cultural practices remain challenging in its attainment. This study examines the relationship between ethics and cultural practices in the construction industry that needs to be considered when dealing with professionals within the sub-Saharan region of Africa. Through a comprehensive literature and field survey among professionals’, various factors were identified, and based on correlation analysis, the relationship was established. The findings point out the fact that there exists a relationship between culture and ethics. In addition, the results indicated that ethics should be accepted and consolidated in the construction industry by considering cultural practices. It further suggests that generally accepted ethics should guide professionals in practice without compromising standards. The study gives insight into cultural practices that have the tendencies to influence ethical practices. It further suggests that professionals need to adopt ethical practices that conform to acceptable cultural practices. It ascertains the connection between ethics and cultural practices, which other developing countries’ construction industries can emulate.
