This paper examines the acceptance levels of AI-generated technology in Japan and Malaysia and investigates factors influencing its adoption. Despite similar rankings in the World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, Malaysian respondents generally report higher acceptance levels of generated AI than Japanese respondents. The study employs Levene’s test to assess variance homogeneity and finds that both countries share similar perceptions regarding AI technology’s advantages, influenced by successful experiences and endorsements. Multiple regression analyses reveal factors such as compatibility, ease of use, tailored marketing, and endorsements significantly shape perceptions of AI advantages in both countries. However, certain factors like trial offers and testimonials are significant only for Japanese respondents, while exposure to successful experiences is significant only for Malaysians.
