The agonist-antagonist myoneural interface (AMI) is a novel technique that aims to restore proprioceptive feedback by mimicking the natural dynamics of antagonistic muscle-tendon pairs. In this pilot study, adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned to sham, control, and AMI experimental groups. The control group exhibited a complete loss of proprioception, whereas the AMI group demonstrated significant recovery of proprioceptive function. These results not only provide empirical support for the AMI approach but also establish a foundational framework for quantifying proprioception recovery post-intervention. This study underscores the potential of AMI in enhancing neuromuscular rehabilitation strategies.
