Educational management refers to the exercises of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of an educational institution to achieve its desired targets and objectives constructively. For the successful exercise of management activities, educational managers should have the capability and academic strength to continue the complex task. Educational managers of educational institutions are composed of principals and teacher supervisors whose leadership is reflected in carrying out management functions In this chapter, the discussion focuses on the required qualifications and skills of an educational manager, which include but are not limited to academic qualifications, familiarity with National Educational Policies, research capabilities, communication capability, reading habits as culture, and the skill of being updated to knowledge development. The terms educational manager, school principal, and school leader is used interchangeably in this discussion.
