Unexpanded basidiomata 1.5–2 cm broad, 1.8–2.5 cm high, ovoid, white, furfuraceous. Pseudostipe and arms elongating from peridium at maturity. Pseudostipe short, cylindrical, hollow. Arms 3–7 cm long, subcylindrical, usually gradually tapered and subconical at apex, with 2–5 arms, red especially at apex, united apically when young, free when old. Gleba borne on inner surface of arms, dark yellowish green to greyish black when fresh, mucilaginous, foetid, dark olive brown to greyish black when dried. Basidiospores 5–6 × 2–2.5 μm, long elliptical, smooth, hyaline to light olivaceous.
