Globally, the energy crisis caused by the limited reserves of traditional fossil energy and the climate change caused by the massive emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide have become major international frontier issues of concern to many countries and regions. The energy of our whole planet must be rapidly transformed from carbon emitting fossil fuels (i.e., coal and petroleum) to various clean and renewable energy such as solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, and biomass energy within decades.
