The Islamic architecture is known for their unique style and their elements. Throughout the history, it is seen that elements such as minarets, domes, jaali and arches of Islamic architecture were recognized and appreciated by Muslims and non-Muslims scholars. Elements of Islamic architecture is not limited to only religious structure, but it is richly used in all types of structure religious as well as secular. The aim of this study to examine the changes in application of elements of Islamic architecture over the periods from Historic times to modern times. It seeks to make the readers appreciate the Islamic architecture and clear the misconception about the application of elements of Islamic architecture in historic and modern period. It highlights the characteristics of elements of Islamic architecture that make it unique from the other forms of architecture. This research examined the various type of Islamic architecture and their elements, application of elements in historic as well as in modern period, to draw comparative analysis study of elements of Islamic architecture in historic and modern period. The study concludes that Islamic architectural elements were applied in various contexts across time. Hence the elements of Islamic architecture have direct links to the religion's divine principles and its aspirations.
