Ignoring our surrounding environment; in today’s scenario, we seem to be having an ordinary life, facilitated with digital technology. In contrast, the deteriorating environmental conditions are as observant scenario worldwide. Irregular weather patterns, rising temperatures, retreating global ice sheets, rising sea level, droughts, contaminated and polluted resources etc. are the result of the changing environmental conditions. This is further depleting the condition of our basic resources for survival which increases the likelihood of airborne, vector borne and waterborne diseases, and recent examples of same is COVID-19 pandemic. Environmental change also accelerates the problem of antimicrobial resistance, which is another threat to human health due to increasing cases of resistant pathogenic infections. “Uttarakhand; the land of gods” is not left untouched by the ill effects of environmental changes. In lieu of the recent developments, where trees are expurgated down, plenty of constructions works going around, and extreme rise of tourism; leading to depletion of environment of Uttarakhand, which is having ill effects on the health of people of Uttarakhand. This paper aims to analyze how the environmental changes are impacting the health conditions of the people of Uttarakhand, mainly focusing on the deteriorating conditions due to contaminated/ polluted air and water.
