Indigenous architecture serves as a crucial repository of culture and heritage, encapsulating the distinctive essence of regions and communities. Over time, indigenous communities confront ongoing challenges such as cultural loss, displacement from their lands, economic inequalities, environmental pressures, health disparities, legal injustices, discrimination, social disruption, and political marginalization, collectively impacting their well-being and resilience. To date, there are numerous laws and policies aimed at indigenous groups, but there is no unified framework outlining a systematic process for their upliftment. This research paper emphasizes the pressing requirement to empower indigenous communities through the exploration of diverse avenues. The methodology employed in this study primarily comprises an extensive literature review using qualitative content analysis, which encompasses a comprehensive examination of the diverse laws and policies specifically designed to safeguard and promote the well-being of indigenous communities. Following this, an in-depth analysis and comparative assessment of these legal frameworks are conducted to extract insights into their efficacy and potential areas for improvement. The primary objective of this research is to pinpoint gaps in existing indigenous laws and policies. Through this exploration, the study aims to provide recommendations for a unified framework that can be adopted by a range of stakeholders, including policymakers, community leaders, and organizations.
