This study seeks to determine the influence of environmental parameters on thermal comfort of students in three naturally ventilated degree colleges of Madhya Pradesh located under different climatic zones. A questionnaire survey of 348 students was conducted in the months of May and August 2023 to know the thermal sensation votes, thermal preference, level of clothing, and metabolic rates of occupants. Air velocity, relative humidity, and air temperature were assessed with an anemometer. The results show that the occupants experienced extreme levels of heat discomfort in the summer compared to the monsoon season. It has been observed that there is not much difference in the clothing pattern (0.57–0.60 Clo) in both seasons. It has also been observed that the adaptation measures, for instance, use of fans, opening of windows, etc., were found beneficial to reduce discomfort inside the classroom. According to the study, the range of comfortable temperatures fluctuates from 22.2 to 29 °C during the monsoon season to 28.2 to 33.5 °C in the summer.
