A Sound Absorber Based on IPMC Electro-Mechanical Conversion Mechanism
摘要
Ionic polymer metal composite (IPMC) typically consists of a polyelectrolyte membrane sandwiched between two electrode layers of metals or nanocarbon materials. Due to its exceptional advantages, including high sensing performance, low driving voltage, rapid response speed, flexibility, large deformation, IPMC has been extensively explored in various field, such as electronic devices, bionic robots, biomedicine. However, the application of IPMC in the field of acoustic absorption has hardly been reported. In this paper, we investigated the sound absorption mechanism of IPMC and the acoustic properties of so-based acoustic structure through both experiment and simulation. The results showed that the IPMC membrane displayed an enhanced acoustic absorption ability at low frequencies.
