The overall growth in technologies from seed to harvest has greatly increased agricultural productivity and production. But on the other hand, global temperature rise, change in the rainfall pattern, and various other climatic events are observed over time. The research on the effect of climate change on agricultural production is trending, but the political vulnerability is associated with it. Besides, the foodborne toxicity reports, disease due to ingestion of food, and animal and plant health reports suggest that their numbers have been increased. Therefore, the role of climate change needs to be studied, as climate change may affect food safety and increase the risk associated with it. This review was an attempt to document and discuss various factors of climate change and their effects on food safety. The paper concludes the need for an integrated approach and participation from all the sectors to address the food safety issues due to climate-related factors.
