Concrete is the most consumed material next to water, it is an essential material in the construction industry and most companies require economical concrete by replacing cement with cementitious material, which affects the ecosystem to a higher extent. There is a need to optimize the concrete in terms of material consumption and performance of pozzolana by-products from several industries. The various steps to be adopted in this direction include minimization of the production of energy-consuming materials and maximum utilization of industrial by-products. Enhancing the packing efficiency of the concrete is one of the techniques to improve the performance of concrete. The addition of varied-sized binders will reduce the voids in concrete which eventually will increase the strength of concrete. Thermal power plants in India produce an enormous quantity of fly ash and its percentage utilization is less than 10%. Several studies have been carried out by adding mineral admixtures at different percentages and different proportions. The current study has been carried out on studying the impact of tertiary binders on increasing the packing capacity and the performance of concrete. An attempt has been made in enhancing the performance by increasing the packing capacity of the concrete by varying the size of coarse aggregate and fine aggregate. A study was carried out studying the hydration process between the tertiary binders using SEM analysis. The compressive strength was carried out at different stages to study the performance of concrete. It was observed that the addition of tertiary binders and varied-sized aggregate improved the performance of concrete by up to 14% and reduction of carbon emission by up to 45% and the later age strength gaining was due to the pozzolanic reaction which was observed in the SEM Analysis.
