In the previous chapter, we study message passing receiving techniques for SEFDM signaling under multipath channels. Compared to SEFDM signaling with one-dimensional frequency domain compression, the time-frequency two-dimensional compressed MFTN signaling can significantly improve the spectral efficiency of wireless communication systems by relaxing the orthogonality constraints on the symbol period and subcarrier spacing of Nyquist signaling (Rusek F, Anderson JB in International symposium on information theory, pp 970–974, 2005). However, MFTN signaling introduces severe ISI and ICI simultaneously, further complicating receiver design.

摘要
