Education sciences related to traffic can be called “traffic education,” but this term is not generally used. This is because it is difficult to say that the scientific system of education related to traffic has been sufficiently organized so far. Education sciences are academic approaches that verify educational contents, methods, policies, and systems from the standpoints of various disciplinary fields (for example, psychology, sociology, economics, etc.). The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the nature of traffic education as education sciences, focusing particularly on the importance of traffic safety education.
