Pacific Islanders and people in Southern and Southeast Asia have long used noni fruit and leaves as food. In Java and Thailand, noni leaves were consumed both raw and cooked. The fruit has been utilized more recently to make dietary supplements. It is acknowledged that noni (Morinda citrifolia L.) is a sustainable crop with potential market uses. Noni has been utilized for generations by traditional healers in Hawaii and Polynesia to treat and prevent a wide range of ailments. According to reports, there is a growing interest in using noni plants as a novel source of bioactive chemicals. Bioactive substances with antioxidant, anti-mutagenic, anti-tumour, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiviral, anti-fungal, antimicrobial, and anti-carcinogenic qualities have been demonstrated to exist in noni extracts. Through an explanation of the carried out in vitro and in vivo experiments, this review delves deeply into the industrial applications and pharmacological activity of M. citrifolia fruit, seed, leaf, and root, as well as their extracted phytochemical components.
