Creating Heat Map Using Point Density Analysis of MODIS Fire Hotspot Data for Johor State

Heat map is a two-dimensional representation of data in which values are represented by colors. A simple heat map provides an immediate visual summary of information. Point density analysis has been used in this study from discrete point of MODIS fire hotspot collected since 2001 until 2020. It gives us a sense of what happens in the raster format of that area. The information is converted to raster format so that it can be meaningful in some other works flow. Point density feature in spatial analysis tools in ArcMap is used and 5 class has been set using natural breaks classification methods. Temporal and spatial analysis benefited to support decision-making and policy formulation by understanding the trends and pattern of fire timely in space.
