Practical and Theoretical Pedagogy in Media Education: Framework for Middle Eastern Higher Education
摘要
This chapter explores the integration of theoretical and practical approaches to media education tailored to the Middle Eastern context. The chapter argues that media education must cultivate media literacy, critical thinking, and practical skills to meet the demands of diverse industries, from marketing to government, amidst rapid digitalization and globalization. The proposed framework integrates contextual relevance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and experiential learning, scaffolded across foundational theory, practical training, and capstone projects. This hybrid pedagogy aims to produce graduates equipped for the Middle Eastern media ecosystem and global markets, advocating for a standardized regional curriculum to enhance collaboration and innovation.
