Assessment of Covid-19 Management in Uttarakhand

The dreadful pictures of people running for oxygen cylinders and hospital beds exposed the grim reality of the health system in the country leaving harrowing memories in the minds of people. The Covid-19 pandemic created a multitude of acute challenges for health care delivery organizations, including inadequate capacity, supply shortages, the need for care redesign, and financial loss, in short it had a very deep impact on the health care system. So, in order to study the effects this pandemic has caused on the people, their response towards it, the role government played to eradicate the virus and challenges people faced and are still facing due to this pandemic situation, the present research aims to assess the measures taken for COVID-19 management in the Uttarakhand state. Being a mountainous area, Uttarakhand is more vulnerable to biological disasters such as COVID-19 and is therefore chosen as a study area. The spatial temporal analysis of the COVID-19 in the study area has been done. The health infrastructure facilities in the study area has also been assessed along with the evaluation of awareness of COVID vaccination process among the people. For the study, both primary as well as secondary data has been used which is analysed using GIS techniques. The primary data has been collected to assess the apprehensions people had about COVID-19 pandemic.
