Socio-ecology analyses the hierarchies in society, be it culture-nature or man-woman. It also provides examples of environmental movements against unfair treatment and injustice towards nature. Anthropogenic variants are the main reason for the imbalance in the environment. This paper discusses two important aspects: Patriarchal Ideologies that indicate a connection between women and nature, and the position of nature is discussed as a geographical entity in connection with place-based study. Instances from select eco-fictions are highlighted from a green theoretical standpoint to investigate nature-women subjugation in society.

摘要

Socio-ecology analyses the hierarchies in society, be it culture-nature or man-woman. It also provides examples of environmental movements against unfair treatment and injustice towards nature. Anthropogenic variants are the main reason for the imbalance in the environment. This paper discusses two important aspects: Patriarchal Ideologies that indicate a connection between women and nature, and the position of nature is discussed as a geographical entity in connection with place-based study. Instances from select eco-fictions are highlighted from a green theoretical standpoint to investigate nature-women subjugation in society.
